IRC: Training Needs Assessment For Objective Based Codes
Canadian Institute for Research in Construction 2003 survey validated need for training on key concepts of new codes objective-based format. Respondents said they wanted classroom training that includes practice in applying new information-objectives, functional statements, intent and application statements that will be attached to each requirement.

IRC: Research In Support Of Performance Based Solutions In NBC Canada
Canadian Institute for Research in Construction paper describes current and proposed research at the National Research Council of Canada intended to assess the potential impact of performance-based solutions in future editions of the national building codes. The research addresses the need to introduce performance-based solutions that correlate with the objectives, functional statements and intents provided by the objective-based format of the 2005 codes.
